As Singapore aspires to become the world’s first truly Smart Nation, the government is building an innovation-driven economy, where technology start-ups play a key role in injecting innovation and vibrancy into the technological ecosystem. To remain competitive, companies must upgrade their capabilities and transform themselves by providing greater value through technological innovation and business expansion. This will result in greater demand for manpower with multi-disciplinary expertise in the areas of innovation, engineering and business management skills.
This programme provides a platform for out-of-the-box learning and thinking, bringing together engineering, function, cost analysis, aesthetics and lifestyle, to solve problems from multi-disciplinary perspectives. Students will become proficient in the design, development and implementation of solutions for engineering with a focus on business processes that will enable graduates to move up the value chain of high-value added engineering production.
The programme integrates electrical and electronics engineering and business knowledge, with a strong focus on innovation, design thinking and an entrepreneurial mind-set. The course will nurture versatile graduates who have the knowledge and skill-sets to succeed in a wide range of engineering industries.

To graduate with a Diploma in Engineering Design with Business, you must complete a total of 120 modular credits. You should be able to do this within three years of enrolment if you successfully complete on average five modules, or its equivalent, per semester.
